La Fonteta adds 1-0 in the BKT EuroCup semis (91-82)

Valencia Basket earned the first point of their BKT EuroCup semifinal tie against Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv by winning 91-82 with the support of their fans. They played a strong second half, finding their rhythm and turning around a game that was dominated by a very tough opponent for many moments. The Valencia Basket team trailed for most of the first half against the aggressive defense of an opponent that prevented Pedro Martínez's men from developing their game. They found scoring opportunities through Motley and, especially, an inspired Madar to take a six-point lead at halftime. After the break, the Valencia Basket defense did not concede a single basket during the first six minutes of the third quarter, turning the score around with a 17-3 run, although the Israeli defense cut short the Valencia Basket's momentum and the game tightened again. Montero and Costello struck a first blow, and although Foster brought his team back close on the scoreboard, a 2+1 by Badio and Jones, setting up his teammates in the paint, sealed the victory in the first game of the series.
